چکیده

Electronic charge rearrangement between components of a heterostructure is the fundamental principle to reach electronic ground state. It acknowledged that density state distribution governs amount transfer, but notable dependence on temperature not yet considered, particularly for weakly interacting systems. Here, it experimentally observed ground-state transfer in van der Waals formed by monolayer MoS2 sandwiched graphite and molecular electron acceptor layer increases factor 3 when going from 7 K room temperature. State-of-the-art structure calculations full accounts nuclear thermal fluctuations reveal intracomponent electron–phonon coupling intercomponent as key factors determining transfer. This conclusion rationalized model applicable multicomponent heterostructures.

The role of collective motion in the ultrafast charge transfer in van der Waals heterostructures

The success of van der Waals heterostructures made of graphene, metal dichalcogenides and other layered materials, hinges on the understanding of charge transfer across the interface as the foundation for new device concepts and applications. In contrast to conventional heterostructures, where a strong interfacial coupling is essential to charge transfer, recent experimental findings indicate t...

Correction to "charge transfer excitons at van der Waals interfaces".

The van der Waals interfaces of molecular donor/acceptor or graphene-like two-dimensional (2D) semiconductors are central to concepts and emerging technologies of light-electricity interconversion. Examples include, among others, solar cells, photodetectors, and light emitting diodes. A salient feature in both types of van der Waals interfaces is the poorly screened Coulomb potential that can g...

Photovoltaic Effect in Graphene/MoS2/Si Van der Waals Heterostructures

This paper presents a study on the photovoltaic effect of a graphene/MoS2/Si double heterostructure, grown by rapid chemical vapor deposition. It was found that the double junctions of the graphene/MoS2 Schottky junction and the MoS2/Si heterostructure played important roles in enhancing the device’s performance. They allowed more electron-hole pairs to be efficiently generated, separated, and ...
